Some lines from our founder
In 2009, I suddenly decided to do something meaningful for the village children. By 2014, while working on this initiative, I established contact with BSU Prayas of Bidhan Shishu Udyan. Starting with mock tests, the village students began participating in various workshops, seminars, book fairs, and science exhibitions at Bidhan Shishu Udyan and in Kolkata. Their interest in education and intellectual pursuits grew stronger. Many of these participating students secured positions within the top ten of the State Merit List in Secondary and Higher Secondary exams.
Inspired by the enthusiasm of these students, Jasim Uddin Mandal and I took the initiative to establish Sandford Academy in Newtown-Kolkata, focusing primarily on NEET and JEE aspirants. The Board of Directors provided opportunities for close interaction with the students.
During this time, we witnessed the onset of the greatest pandemic of our lifetime, Covid-19. The entire world came to a standstill for over two years. Post-Covid, we found ourselves in a new world—a digital world—with a strong presence in the education system.
In these few years, while the world progressed rapidly, the education system, particularly for Bengali-medium students from middle-class and lower-class families, remained the same as it was 20-25 years ago. Bengali-medium students are increasingly falling behind in all-India level examinations. Most people have little understanding of the job market and its demands. In the fast-paced world of digitalization, modernization, and globalization, our students, parents, and guardians are feeling lost, and this is affecting the mental well-being of the students.

A year ago, I decided to make an effort to do something for Bengali-medium students. With determination and the experience I have gained, I aimed to stand by their side. I received support from the state’s top teachers, educators, psychologists, and scientists. To implement this initiative, I also gained the support of teachers and education enthusiasts from various blocks of the state.
Thus, DhiLearn Academy was established, along with its program “Ready for the Month’s Studies within the Month.” At a very low cost, we aim to integrate the best supplementary education system with Bengali-medium students, enabling them to prepare themselves for all-India level exams and, alongside academic and personal development, connect with modern jobs, businesses, and globalization.
Every child has some unique specialty within them. Our responsibility is to discover that and guide them on the most appropriate path. Once they are on the right path, they will find their way on their own. We all share the same desire—to see our children enjoy learning, prepare themselves at a national level, and become good human beings.
